Ultrasound Therapy

Our podiatrists are also fully trained and equipped to administer therapeutic ultrasound treatment for soft tissue conditions.

One of the greatest proposed benefits of ultrasound therapy is that can reduce the healing time of certain soft tissue injuries and in particular heel pain.

The treatment uses ultrasonic sound waves that are pulsed at the symptomatic area a million times per second. The sound waves penetrate the skin surface layers and cause the soft tissue to vibrate producing gentle healing vibrations within the affected area that soothe inflammation and relieve pain.

Ultrasound therapy is used commonly in treatment for the following conditions

  • heel pain/plantar fasciitis
  • many sports injuries such as ankle sprains
  • Achilles tendinopathy
  • Severs/Osgood Schlatters condition
  • forefoot pain
  • and many other conditions
