Children’s Podiatry

A child’s foot is not just a tiny version of an adult foot.

Foot shape is not determined until teenage years. It is therefore important that the foot is able to develop correctly. It is imperative that shoes are fitted correctly and any problems (no matter how small) are addressed before the foot is fully developed.

There are many conditions and sports injuries that are pertinent to children’s feet and it is therefore important that they are treated by podiatrists who are experienced with children. Our podiatrists are all trained to treat children’s feet and regularly attend sessions at local children’s footwear stores.

Foot problems that can occur in adult life may be prevented through early intervention in childhood.
